Freedom Writers Diary Reading Circles on August 7 and 10
Reading Circle discussion groups are scheduled for Tuesday, August 7 at 5pm and for Friday, August 10 at 1pm in the Library.
Faculty members of the Library Committee selected the book, Freedom Writers Diary, for the Summer 2007 Reading Circles program. The Library has copies of the book available for loan, and copies of the paperback are available for purchase from the Follett Bookstore.
English teacher Erin Gruwell encouraged her high school students to achieve through writing and learning the true meaning of diversity and acceptance. The book explains how a teacher and 150 teens used writing to change themselves and the world around them.
