April is National Poetry Month--Post a Poem on the ReadDeVry Blog

On Thursday, April 30, DeVry University is celebrating National Poetry Month. Locate a poem you enjoy, put it in your pocket, and share it with a friend, classmate or faculty member at DeVry on Thursday, April 30.

The logo pictured here can be worn on your clothing to indicate your participation. Write your name of the back of the logo and submit for a raffle prize in the Library on Thursday, April 30.

Here is a short excerpt taken from Alice Walker's A Poem Traveled Down My Arm (Random House, 2003, p. 105)--
"There is only
kindess
lucid, strong
in the
moment
like
sunlight
penetrating
a gloomy
glade

The offer
of empathy
or tea
or soup
or
bread
a bed.
